Social Ministry
Want to volunteer to clean books for Ready to Learn? Interested in volunteering with Feed My People or Circle of Concern? Looking for ways to help unhoused people in the STL area? Our Social Ministry Team offers a variety of ways to put your faith in action while helping others. Social Ministry regularly organizes collections, volunteer events, and education on ways to put our hands at work in the community. Inspired Women
Gather with us every other Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 PM for an inspiring study led by and given for women! Inspired Women meet in various locations. Currently, we are meeting in the narthex at the church.
Current Book Study: Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere by Savannah Guthrie
Join our Senior Men’s Group at 9 AM the second Monday of every month. Gather for coffee, snack, and conversation around faith and life.
STHS Book Club
The STHS Book Club meets the last Monday of the month in the Narthex. For September 2024, the book club is reading The Mitford Affair by Marie Benedict (2023) and Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson (2022).
Scrip Program — Raise Money While You Shop!
It’s simple — scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift cards to STHS at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, you redeem them for full face value, and our church keeps the difference as revenue. And scrip is exciting, because everybody wins: it’s the fundraising program that works while you shop!
We sell the scrip in November and December to help you shop and give for the holiday season.
The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our church without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and dining out.

The list that appears in the catalog is arranged chronologically (latest to oldest) by entry date into our catalog. Each column may be ordered by clicking on the heading. To search our library’s collection, use the “Search your library” box on the upper right (not the topmost “Search site” box which searches all libraries with catalogs in Library Thing). By using the drop down “Search” menu, you may limit your search to titles/authors, subjects, etc. If you are interested in searching by collection (fiction, biography, etc.) choose the drop down “All collections” menu on the far left.
Altar Guild
Consider joining the Altar Guild. We operate behind the scenes and make sure that the altar is set with everything the pastor needs for each service. We meet only 5 times a year, every 2 months and not at all in the summer. If interested, please contact Sue Rosso at 314-843-6577.
Give a Ride to Church
Join the Transportation Ministry! We are looking for those who are willing to provide transportation to worship services. If you can provide a ride, please call the office at 314-843-6577, or sign up in the Life Center. The more volunteers, the more successful the ministry!
Joy Women
The Joy Women plan and host quarterly women’ retreats here at STHS. We “party girls” love putting together all the little details for each retreat — from the fun themes, decorations, crafts and activities to the thoughtful devotions and fellowship time. And, of course, there’s always food and drink! This is truly a labor of love for us. It is a JOY-full women’s ministry that allows us to connect and lift one another up. We welcome all women to participate by attending or helping us plan upcoming retreats. Planning meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month — location to be determined. Want to learn more?
